Getting Started
Your new ByteNova PC, from unboxing to first game — and how to keep it running well for years.
Unboxing & first boot
Unbox carefully
Lift the PC out by the case, not the glass panel. Keep the box for a couple of weeks in case you ever need to send it back.
Remove the transit packing
Open the side panel and remove any foam or air bags placed inside to protect the parts in transit. Don't power on with packing inside.
Connect the monitor to the graphics card
Use the lower, horizontal ports on the back. The ports higher up on the motherboard won't show anything.
Power and peripherals
Plug in the power cable, flip the PSU switch to I, connect your keyboard, mouse and network (Ethernet or screw on the WiFi antennas).
First boot
Press the power button. The first start can take up to a minute while memory settings train. That's normal.
First-day checklist
Sign in to Windows and run updates
Settings › Windows Update › Check for updates. Restart when asked.
Update your graphics driver
NVIDIA App or AMD Adrenalin — links on our Support page.
Set your monitor's refresh rate
Settings › System › Display › Advanced display. Choose the highest number (144Hz, 165Hz…). Windows often leaves it at 60Hz.
Run a quick benchmark
Use one of the games on our benchmark list and save the result. It's your baseline for later.
Healthy temperatures
Check with HWiNFO while gaming. As a rough guide:
| Part | Normal while gaming | Message us if |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | 60–85°C | Regularly above 90°C |
| GPU | 60–80°C | Regularly above 85°C, or hotspot above 100°C |
Small cases run a little warmer than big ones. That's expected and safe within these ranges.
Keeping it running well
- Dust: UAE homes get dusty. Clean the dust filters every month or two, and blow out the inside with compressed air every 3–6 months with the PC off and unplugged.
- Placement: leave a few centimetres of space around the vents. Don't put the PC on carpet or inside a closed cabinet.
- Power: a surge-protected extension is cheap insurance.
- Drivers: update your graphics driver every couple of months.
